The company started in May 1988 by Mr Alan Purkiss and for the first 4 years carried out decoration works only with a staff of four operatives. From 1992 to present day, General Building, Extensions, Internal Refurbishment, Plumbing, Decorating, Fencing and Ground-works form a major part of the workload. In 1998 A Purkiss became a Limited Company. We have continued to develop our Management Team & Site Operatives and can provide the complete building service.

We carry out works as both Principle and sub-contractor.

We carry out contracts for a wide variety of Clients from Residential properties to Government projects. Our team is flexible, consisting of site Supervisors, Carpenters, Bricklayers, Ground workers, Fencers, Painters & Decorators and A Gas Safe Registered Plumber. We also have long standing diverse Approved Subcontractors list at our disposal allowing us to provide a very comprehensive building service.

All our employee's are directly employed allowing us to provide a better service in regards to manpower, continuation of works & the all important quality control. Our Management team and entire on site operatives are Construction Industry Scheme (CSCS) certified, Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) checked and we are Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) registered.
